Special Collections:
The Mitchell County Public Library houses a special collection
of Mineral & Geology reference books. Many of these books are
rare holdings and are no longer in print. For this reason,
they are not available for check-out and can only be used in
the library. They are, however, available for all of the
patrons in the A-M-Y Regional Library System and, upon
request, can be loaned to any branch in the system for
in-house use. |

Community Support
The Public Libraries in Mitchell County are supported in part
with funds from the Mitchell County Community Fund. These
funds are used for the purchase of new books for the Mitchell
County Public Library in Bakersville and the Spruce Pine
Public Library in Spruce Pine. Your support of the Mitchell
County Community Fund makes this possible.
The library is also grateful for the continuing support it
receives from the McBee Trust Fund, created by Helen McBee in
1995. Miss McBee's love for the library will benefit the
citizens of Mitchell County for generations to come. |
